Welcome to the Human Rights Act website.

The Bill of Rights Unit is a small team of lawyers in the Department of Justice and Community Safety responsible for providing advice to line agencies and the Attorney General on human rights law issues.

The ACT Human Rights Act 2004 is the first bill of rights in Australia. This website provides access to a range of publications and resources intended to help government agencies and the public understand how the Human Rights Act works.
